Chandigarh: In an effort to bring a transforming change in lives of the state's rural population, the Haryana Government has decided to implement 13 new projects worth more than Rs. 284 crore under Rural Augmentation programme and Mahagram Yojana in 4 districts namely Hisar, Jind, Sonipat and Rewari.
Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today accorded administrative approval for these projects to be implemented by the Public Health Engineering Department here today with NABARD assistance as loan.
Giving more information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that new works under rural augmentation programme include Canal based water supply scheme for Pranpura and Mamria Asampur and additional Storage and Sedimentation Tank for Water Supply Scheme Mamria Thather, Distt. Rewari at a cost of Rs. 29.36 crore, Canal based water supply scheme Khori group of 2 no villages and sedimentation tank at existing water works Makharia and Chimnawas of District Rewari at a cost of Rs. 25.20 crore, Construction of Additional Storage and Sedimentation Tank for existing water supply scheme Jatuwas Group of 8 villages at Bharawas of District Bhiwani at a cost of Rs. 12.22 crore, Renovation and increasing storage capacity for raw water in canal based water works of rural areas for Kosli, Distt.
Rewari at a cost of Rs. 11.90 crore, Construction of additional storage and Sedimentation Tank for existing water supply scheme of Bolni Group of 4 villages at Kheri Motla of District Rewari at a cost of Rs. 9.12 crore. Spokesperson said that after the renovation/refurbishment of these 15 no. of canal based water works along with the construction of new works a prospective population of 1.63 lakh population with 15 year horizon will be directly benefited.
The spokesperson enlisted the projects approved under Mahagram Yojana as Augmentation of drinking water supply in village Gangwa, District Hisar at a cost of Rs. 36.52 crore, Providing sewerage system in village Gangwa, District Hisar at a cost of Rs. 36.21 crore, Providing sewerage system in village Chattar, District Jind at a cost of Rs. 30.95 crore, Providing sewerage system in village Sadalpur of District Hisar at a cost of Rs. 25.72 crore, Augmentation for Water Supply Scheme of village Sadalpur of District Hisar at a cost of Rs. 22.72 crore, Providing sewerage system in village Khewra, District Sonipat at a cost of Rs. 19.86 crore, Augmentation of drinking water supply in village Chattar, District Jind at a cost of Rs. 18.36 crore, Augmentation of drinking water supply in village Khewra, District Sonipat at a cost of Rs. 6.61 crore.
The spokesperson further apprised that Haryana has already become the first big state to ensure the supply of functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs) to every household under the Jal Jeevan Mission. The Central Government had set a target of giving clean drinking tap water to every rural family by 2024 under this mission; however, the State Government has achieved this target much in advance.
