Kalyan inspects rescue work in the flood prone area near Yamuna

KARNAL: MLA Harvinder Kalyan on Tuesday inspected the construction work of embankments for flood protection in the villages of Lalupura, Sadarpur, Khirajpur, Nabipur and Kundakla in the flood prone area adjacent to Yamuna along with a team of departmental officials. On this occasion, the MLA instructed the officials to complete the work at a fast pace and assured the villagers that no problem will be allowed during the monsoon.

 

On this occasion, MLA Kalyan said that there was a problem in the availability of stones and recently a meeting was held with the Chief Minister and high officials in Chandigarh and this problem was resolved. He asked the officials to speed up the work and pay special attention to its quality and also said that wherever I am, my mind is always on the construction work going on at the Yamuna dam. Therefore, the villagers should not worry and keep an eye on the work going on at the Yamuna embankment.

 

During the inspection, the villagers gave some suggestions to MLA Kalyan, on which the MLA asked the top officials present on the spot and in Chandigarh to take cognizance of those suggestions. He told the villagers that they should remain worry free, the government and administration are engaged in the rescue work on the dam with full alertness. Let us tell you that in view of the problem faced during the last monsoon, MLA Harvinder Kalyan had put all the problems to the Chief Minister, after which an amount of about 28 crores was sanctioned by the government for flood rescue work. Under which work is going on at various places.

 

The villagers expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister through MLA Kalyan for the stones that arrived in large numbers for the construction of the embankment and said that this time all the villagers of Yamuna belt will be worry free due to the start of work on time, otherwise there was always a danger during the monsoon.


On this occasion, Executive Engineer of Irrigation Department Manoj Kumar, SDO Vikas and Karnail Singh, former Sarpanch Vikas Gujjar, Sarpanch Ombir, Shiv Kumar, Satyawan, Nishant, Rajesh Kamboj, Sarpanch Krishna, Rakesh Kashyap, Rajiv etc. were present.
