‘First-Aid Kits’ to be purchased for Anganwadis: Aseem Goel

Chandigarh: Haryana Minister of State for Transport & Women and Child Development, Sh. Aseem Goel, announced that "First-Aid Kits" will be purchased for Anganwadis across the state to ensure primary medical treatment for children in case of any accident. The High Powered Purchase Committee granted approval for this initiative today.

 

A meeting of the High Powered Purchase Committee was held here today, chaired by Sh. Aseem Goel. Additionally, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal was also present.

 

After the meeting, Minister, Sh. Aseem Goel, informed that electric buses will be introduced in several cities across the state. For the monitoring and management of these buses, tenders were awarded to a company for ITMS (Intelligent Transport Management System). In the first phase, these electric buses will be operated in 11 municipal corporations, with plans to extend the service to other cities thereafter.

 

The Transport Minister further stated that during today’s High Powered Purchase Committee meeting, tenders for the insurance of Haryana Roadways AC buses, the role of e-ticketing, procurement of bus batteries, mobil oil, and other essential spare parts were also finalized. He mentioned that approval was granted for the purchase of goods worth approximately Rs. 15.5 crores in today's meeting.

 

Sh. Goel emphasized that Haryana's state transport is renowned across the country for its service. The state government aims to equip the Roadways fleet with state-of-the-art technology. To reduce environmental pollution, electric buses are being procured.

The meeting was also attended by the Principal Secretary of the Transport Department, Sh. Navdeep Singh Virk, Commissioner of the Women and Child Development Department, Smt. Amneet P. Kumar, Director, State Transport, Sh. Sujan Singh, and other officers.
