BARARA (JAIBEER RANA THAMBER) Varun Chaudhary, MP from Ambala Lok Sabha, said that the monsoon has knocked in Haryana. But the BJP government has not made any preparations for the people of the state. The water level of the river has increased significantly since the release of water in Yamuna from Hathinikund barrage. Due to which there is a threat of floods in many districts of the state. Last year, the Yamuna River in the state showed 35 people and ruined the crop of 4.53 lakh acres.
He said that the first monsoon rains in Haryana have worked to open all the development works of the government. No adequate arrangements have been made by the BJP government to save the fields and coastal villages. About a month before the monsoon, the government has not even issued tenders for cleaning rivers and drains. The BJP government has completed only 44 out of 244 tasks to put up studs on rivers and strengthen embankments. This reflects the failure of the government.
Varun Chaudhary said that last year, the maximum damage was done in Sonepat district due to increase in water level in Yamuna river. In Sonepat, a tender for making 26 places with Rs 13.84 crore was issued. So far, work has started only three places. At the same time, in Faridabad, the government has not started work even after the tender of 5.60 crores has been issued for embankments. In CM CT Karnal, the government has also done only 15 percent of the embankments to avoid flood outbreaks. Despite the issue of tender of 94.58 crore in Yamunanagar, stones have not yet reached the embankments.
He said that the BJP government has been working to exploit farmers for the last ten years. Last year, the government has not yet provided compensation amount to 1 lakh 30 thousand farmers affected by the floods. The BJP had promised the farmers that by the year 2022, the income of farmers would be doubled, but has worked to increase the cost by increasing inflation. The BJP has worked to double the farmers by applying GST on agricultural implements and increasing the prices of fertilizer, seeds and pesticides.
He said, the state government has failed to get development work done in every field. No development work has been done in the state in the last ten years. The BJP government has only done the work of crime, unemployment, inflation and sports and insulting the players in the state. The people of the state have been disillusioned with the policies of BJP. This time the government is being formed in the assembly with an absolute majority of the Congress party. In the Lok Sabha elections, the people of the state have indicated to form the Congress government.
