"Praying for his long and healthy life": PM Modi wishes Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on his 82nd birthday

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended wishes to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on his 82nd birthday. In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, "Birthday wishes to Congress President and the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Shri Mallikarjun Kharge Ji. Praying for his long and healthy life."


Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also conveyed his wishes to the senior party leader on X. "A very happy birthday, @kharge ji! Your tireless service and dedication to the people's cause is an inspiration. Wishing you much love and good health," Rahul Gandhi wrote in a post on X.


In a post on X, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi lauded Mallikarjun Kharge's unwavering dedication and hard work. "Hearty congratulations and best wishes to the President of Indian National Congress Shri Mallikarjun Kharge ji on his birthday. His commitment to the Constitution of the country, democracy and principles of social justice is unwavering. Keeping the ideology of our party intact, he gave fearless leadership in the 24 elections and gave courage to every worker to fight in all circumstances.


I myself saw him holding meeting after meeting in the scorching sun. Ignoring his health and personal problems, he did not stop. His tireless work is a source of inspiration for all of us. May God give him a long life, good health and strong leadership," Priyanka Gandhi wrote on X.


"Today is the birthday of our national president and the strong voice of the exploited, oppressed and struggling people of the country, Shri @kharge ji. All of us Congressmen wish him a long life and congratulate him, all Congressmen and his followers," Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat wrote in a post on X.


Born on July 21, 1942, Kharge's political career spans several decades, marked by his relentless dedication and formidable leadership for the Indian National Congress.
