Rewari: Despite every possible effort by the villagers and social workers to stop the release of polluted water in Masani Barrage, the administration has not paid heed to it. Despite NGT imposing a fine on the STP department for polluted water, polluted water is still being released. Regarding this, MLA Chiranjeev Rao reached Masani Barrage to take stock of the situation and also met the affected people of the nearby villages. The affected people told the entire information to MLA Chiranjeev Rao and said that the administration is not listening to them at all and they have also complained at every level.
MLA Chiranjeev Rao said that there is a lot of difference between the words and actions of the BJP government. Our Congress government had connected the barrage to the Jawaharlal Nehru Canal so that canal water could come here, people could benefit and the water level could also be corrected. But the current BJP government is dumping chemically contaminated water from factories into it without being treated by STP, as a result of which the lives of people of villages like Khaliyavas, Kharkada, Titarpur, Masani, Dungarvas, Nikhri, Bhatsana, Niganiyavas, Rasgan, Jadthal etc. have become difficult.
People are getting allergies, due to which people are getting cancer, crops are not growing in the fields, animals cannot be given borewell water, many animals have also died.
MLA Chiranjeev Rao said that the BJP government had also garnered false applause some time back and the then Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had visited here and announced that Masani Barrage would be made a tourist spot, boats would run here and people would be given employment. No action has been taken on which today the situation is such that Masani Barrage has been turned into a lake of dirty water. A few days ago, my father, former minister Captain Ajay Singh Yadav, met Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and I have been raising the issue of Masani Barrage in the Assembly for the last 5 years.
But till date the government has not taken any concrete steps. On the orders of NGT, the Pollution Control Board took water samples from the sewerage treatment plant which were completely contaminated and the STP was also fined, but what was the use of imposing the fine when even today the same untreated water is being poured into the Masani Barrage.
MLA Chiranjeev Rao said that all political parties should come together and raise this issue. It is the responsibility of all of us that injustice is being done to the people here. Mr. Rao said that this is a serious environmental crisis. A permanent solution should be found for this with immediate effect.
This contaminated water should be connected to Drain No. 8, this is its permanent solution. Only canal water should come to Masani Barrage so that the people around can benefit. On this occasion, Rajkumar Sarpanch Khaliyawas, Dheeraj Block Committee Member, Naresh former Sarpanch Kharkada, Block Committee Member Sukhiram, Sunil Sarpanch Nikhri, Dr. Ratiram Yadav, Dayachand Masani, Sunil former Sarpanch Dhakia, Satyanarayan former Chairman, Dalip Singh former DSP, Jitendra Fadni former Sarpanch, Ramnarayan former Sarpanch Khaliyawas, former Block Committee Member Ramesh Teetarpur, Advocate Anil Dungarwas, Indrajit Pradhan Dungarwas, Satyawan Yadav, Kapil Nikhri, Sunil Nikhri, Rohit Kharkada, Yashpal Teetarpur, Ishwar Yadav Khaliyawas, Gajraj former Sarpanch Niganiyawas etc. were present.
