Panchkula: An Air India flight bound for Melbourne was diverted to Lucknow on Saturday due to a medical emergency involving a passenger. After accessing the seriousness of the situation, the Pilot and staff members of Air India initiated the emergency landing to ensure the wellbeing of the passenger, Mr. Sandeep Passey, a resident of Panchkula, Haryana.
Air India flight A1308, which departed from New Delhi at 2:20 PM, landed at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow at approximately 4:30 PM. The diversion was necessitated by a medical emergency experienced by a Business Class passenger, Mr. Sandeep Passey, who complained of excessive sweating, dizziness & pain.
Upon landing, Mr. Passey was promptly transported to Max Hospital in an ambulance for immediate medical attention and was attended by the staff on priority.
After getting discharged from the hospital, Mr. Passey expressed his gratitude to Air India for their swift and decisive action in handling the situation. He commended the efforts of CEO Mr. Campbell Wilson, Captain Ghani Khan, Co-Pilot Captain Siddharth Mathur, and crew members Ms. Divya and Ms. Sushma for their care and support. He also acknowledged the assistance provided by a doctor couple who were fellow passengers on the flight and extended his gratitude for providing the immediate medical assistance.
