Shimla; On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary, leaders and workers of the Himachal Pradesh Congress paid a heartfelt tribute to the Father of the Nation at the party headquarters, Rajiv Bhavan. State Congress President and former MP Pratibha Singh emphasized the need to uphold Gandhi’s ideals and philosophy. She highlighted his immense contribution to India’s freedom struggle and stated that the nation could never forget him. She reaffirmed that the Congress Party has always followed Gandhi’s principles and continues to do so. She urged everyone to unite to maintain the country’s unity and integrity, adding that the best tribute to Gandhi would be to walk the path he had shown.

Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, said that the nation would forever be indebted to Gandhi. He stressed the importance of promoting his teachings today, as society seems to be drifting away from truth and non-violence. He reiterated that Gandhi’s ideology is the foundation of the Congress Party and must be strengthened further.

Education Minister Rohit Thakur also paid tribute and stressed the need to propagate Gandhi’s philosophy and values among the youth to secure the nation's future.

Among those who paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi were State Congress President Pratibha Singh, Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Shimla MLA Harish Janartha, Mayor Surender Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, Advocate General Anoop Ratna, Additional Advocate Generals Sushant Kapret and Pranay Pratap, and several councillors and party workers.

A two-minute silence was observed in Gandhi’s memory, and devotional songs dedicated to him were sung.
