Baddi: Bunkerman, a Baddi-based company led by Major General Dr. Shripal, introduced its groundbreaking indigenous technology at a public awareness event held at its premises. The event was attended by a large number of people from Baddi and nearby areas.
Dr. Shripal highlighted the severe consequences of urbanization and industrialization, which have led to alarming levels of air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, ozone layer depletion, climate change, and rising global temperatures. The threat of pandemics like COVID-19 and the possibility of biological, chemical, or nuclear warfare further compound these challenges. He warned that if these issues are not addressed, the future could become uninhabitable for humans and livestock.
However, Dr. Shripal assured that there is no need to worry, as he has developed an indigenous technology capable of mitigating these global crises. Demonstrating the technology, he explained that the device not only purifies indoor air in homes, offices, and workplaces but also functions like natural trees to clean outdoor air. Even the smallest version of the Bunkerman system absorbs carbon dioxide equivalent to 34 to 51 trees. In Delhi, where the company has installed its "Bunkerman House" system, it removes as much carbon dioxide as 3,000 trees, significantly improving air quality.
The system's filters capture carbon dioxide and other pollutants from the air, which are then processed into organic compost for plants, enhancing food production and oxygen release. Additionally, when integrated into air conditioning systems, it reduces peak design load requirements by 25-30% and saves 25-30% in energy consumption. At the Guwahati Refinery, where this system is installed, electricity consumption in air conditioning has been reduced by 50-60%. This has made Guwahati Refinery the world's first refinery to achieve direct carbon capture at negative cost.
Dr. Shripal envisions installing this technology in every home and workplace to combat poor air quality in India and globally. Bunkerman's "Emergency House" plan further strengthens these efforts, offering protection against pandemics, biological threats, and nuclear or chemical warfare. A special "Button-Up Mode" in the product ensures safety during such emergencies.
Dr. Shripal emphasized that this innovation would be a boon for India's agriculture-based economy, as it utilizes agricultural waste, organic materials, and non-metallic minerals as raw materials. This aligns with the "Make in India" initiative and opens up significant export opportunities.
Given that pollution is a global challenge, he urged India to take the lead in providing a solution to the world. By spearheading this initiative, India has the potential to become a true global leader.
The event was attended by Colonel C.J. Paul, Ravi Mehandiratta, company officials, and employees.
