CA GMADA, DC SAS Nagar and Commissioner Mohali Reviews Progress

SAS Nagar: Carrying forward the delibeations related to decongestion of Mohali roads, in order to take the matter to its logical end, Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain held a meeting with Chief Administrator, Greater Mohali Area Development Authority, Moonish Kumar and Commissioner MC, Mohali, T Benith and ADC (UD), Anmol Singh Dhaliwal to review the progress of the work done so far.


She urged the CA GMADA and Commissioner, MC Mohali to follow up the progress related to thier respective departments to make the Mohali roads commuters friendly.
During the review meeting, the official team from UT Administration, Chandigarh apprised that the issue of widening and conversion of road of Shri Gurdwara Sanjha Sahib to complete the GMADA project of widening of road from sector 48/65 to Dara Studio (49/64 to 50-63)


from single to dual carriage-way has been under consideration and will be soon sent to planning department for further development. UT team said that the legal issues pertaining this road in UT area have been resolved. Similarly, the PR 5 road that connects the road coming from Sector 43 Bus Stand to Mohali has also been under consideration.


The Railway Engineers who also attended the meeting said that the JLPL Crossing over the road from Chhat Light Points to Gopal Sweets Road that have excessive traffic during peak hours will be converted to dual carriage-way and after having a preliminary joint visit the proposal is being prepared to submit to Railway Authorities.


Apart from that the issues of traffic regulations by providing slip roads at Cheema Boiler Point (Quark City), Semi Conductor Limited and IISER Road were also discussed at length. The issue raised by the Semiconductor limited representative was cleared by the GMADA authorities to go ahead with the proposed slip road. The issues pertaining to congestion in roads falling in PSIEC areas, the PSIEC representative said that the decision is vested with the MC as the roads were handed over to the MC Mohali. Deputy Commissioner asked for a department letter to carry out the work at the earliest by Corporation.


The DSP Trafficking, Karnail Singh while taking part in the delibeations, urged for proper precautions to minimize the chance of accidents near upcoming round abouts on Airport road. CA GMADA asked the traffic police to take action against the haphazard parking of vehicles outside the Hospitals of the city to make the residents free of the problem being arosed from this. He said Estate Office of the GMDA has already issued notices to the hospitals for using the earmarked space for parking submitted with drawings. ADC (G) Viraj S Tidke, ADC (UD) Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, SDMs Amit Gupta, Damandeep Kaur and Gurmander Singh were also among the officials present there.
