Centre for Tribal and Cultural Studies, HPNLU Organizes 17th National Youth Parliamentary Debate in Collaboration with the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India

Shimla: : Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), under the aegis of Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Vice Chancellor, HPNLU, successfully organized the 17th National Youth Parliamentary Debate on 7th March 2025, in collaboration with the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India. The esteemed event aimed to provide an enriching platform for students to engage in meaningful deliberations, simulate the workings of a real parliamentary session, and deepen their understanding of legislative processes.

 

The event was graced by an eminent panel of judges, including Mrs. Pratibha Singh, Former Member of Parliament (Mandi), Prof. Dr. Dinesh Chahal, Department of Education, Central University of Haryana, Prof. Dr. Umesh, Department of Law, H.P. University Shimla, and Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Vice Chancellor of HPNLU. Their profound expertise and observations greatly contributed to the intellectual depth of the event, guiding participants through the nuances of parliamentary debates.

 

Students of the university demonstrated exceptional skills in debate, analysis, and public speaking. Their ability to present well-researched arguments, engage in rebuttals, and lead structured discussions mirrored the actual workings of the legislative process. The participants debated on critical contemporary issues, underscoring their awareness of democratic values and their commitment to national discourse.

 

The successful organization of this event highlights HPNLU's continued dedication to fostering a culture of informed debate, legal acumen, and democratic engagement among students.
