Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Maharaj made the ultimate sacrifice, giving up his entire lineage to protect religion and society. He urged citizens to embrace the ideals, teachings, and words of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji in their daily lives. His spirit of sacrifice and renunciation should remain etched in our hearts and minds. This, he said, would be the truest tribute we can offer to him.
The Chief Minister was speaking on Friday at a programme organized by the Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee at Shri Gurudwara Singh Sabha in village Beed Mathana district Kurukshetra, on the auspicious occasion of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Maharaj’s Prakash Parv.
Earlier, the Chief Minister accompanied by former Minister of State Subhash Sudha, inaugurated the newly constructed Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Dwar at the entrance of Beed Mathana village, a project undertaken by the Shri Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee. Following the inauguration, he paid his respects at Shri Gurudwara Singh Sabha and offered prayers for the prosperity and well-being of the people of Haryana. On this occasion, Harpal Singh and Gulzar Singh, representatives of the Gurudwara Singh Sabha Prabandhak Committee, honoured the Chief Minister with a Saropa and a memento. The Chief Minister also announced a grant of Rs 11 lakh for the Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee.
A Grand Museum to be built in Kurukshetra to preserve the legacy of the all Gurus – Chief Minister
Extending heartfelt wishes to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Prakash Parv, Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that religious events and celebrations are being held across the globe in honour of the Prakash Parv of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Maharaj, who made the supreme sacrifice, laying down his entire lineage, for the protection of dharma and the welfare of society. Today there is a need to imbibe and live by the ideals and teachings of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
Highlighting efforts to commemorate the Guru’s memory, he said that a grand entrance gate has been constructed in the village of Beed Mathana to keep the legacy of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji alive for future generations. He also highlighted the historical significance of the route, stating that Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji had travelled from Kurukshetra to Lohgarh via this very path. He said that a grand and magnificent museum will be constructed in Kurukshetra to preserve the words, teachings, and history of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and all Gurus.
The Chief Minister recalled that the state government had earlier celebrated the 400th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji in Panipat, while Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi had marked the occasion at the Red Fort in New Delhi. Our government is committed to promoting and preserving the teachings of the Gurus for the benefit of all. He said that the government had transferred land free of cost for Chilla Sahib Gurudwara in Sirsa at the very site where Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj spent 40 days in meditation. In addition, a commemorative gate was built in Kurukshetra in the name of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur and a road was also named after Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, further strengthening the state’s dedication to preserving Sikh heritage.
