Hisar: A portion of the dedicated railway track to the Rajiv Gandhi Thermal Power Plant in Khedar village of the district was allegedly damaged by unknown persons on Friday night.
The police are at the spot to the site after getting information about the damaged railway track, which could disrupt the coal supply to the power plant. Amid all this, a video of a pro-Khalistani group has surfaced online claimed responsibility of damaging the railway track.
Khedar Thermal power plant has recently been in the controversy when the residents of Khedar village launched an agitation on the demand of providing fly ash of the power plant free of cost to the gaushala.
The dharna turned violent on July 8 when villagers accompanied by farmers oganisations clashed with the police resulting in death of one farmer and injuries to three cops.
The police booked a case of murder and attempt to murder against around 800 villagers and arrested four in the case. However, the issue was resolved after the BKU leaders Rakesh Tikait and Gurnam Singh Charuni came to the support of the agitation. Around six rounds of meetings with the district administration finally settled the issue and the villagers announced to withdraw their agitation three days ago.
After the report of the damage to the railway track, the Hisar Superintendent of Police Lokender Singh has rushed to the site. The railway authorities are repairing the damaged portion where the clippings have been removed at the railway track.
