Haryana International Film Festival Curtain to rise on 7th August

Kurukshetra, 5 August. Department of Youth and Cultural Affairs, Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra, in collaboration with Sanskriti Society for Arts and Cultural Development, is going to organise the 7th Haryana International Film Festival from 7th to 11th August 2024.


Kurukshetra University Vice Chancellor, Prof Som Nath Sachdeva said that this international film festival will provide a platform for exploring new worlds and facilitate the transitioning into better individuals. DYCA Director Prof. Vivek Chawla and SSACD President Dharmendra Dangi told that Haryana's only film festival dedicated to the development of Haryanvi cinema, art and culture will be organized in the Auditorium Hall and Senate Hall of Kurukshetra University.


In this festival, renowned personalities of the film world including Yashpal Sharma, Akhilesh Mishra, Rajendra Gupta, Yograj Singh, Avtar Gill, Shishir Sharma, Deepika Singh, Munmun Sen, Raima Sen, Roopa Ganguly, Shikha Malhotra, Seema Vishwas and other great artists will be the cynosure. Deputy Director of Public Relations Department Dr Jimmy Sharma informed that the films to be shown in the 7th International Film Festival organized at KU will include films in 19 languages from 16 countries, master classes, fashion shows, live cultural programmes, Haryanvi cuisine and award shows.


75 films including feature films, short films, animations, documentaries, music videos, etc. will be screened in the five-day long Haryana International Film Festival. Films from countries like India, Spain, Iran, Mexico, Egypt, Switzerland, Vietnam, USA, Bangladesh, Morocco, Germany, Nepal, France, etc. will be screened in the festival. Students will get the benefit of learning dialogue writing, story writing, screenplay writing, dialogue, acting, etc. from these films.
