Panchkula: The Amateur Golfers Society (AGS), a registered Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) dedicated to promoting golf, has announced its ambitious plans to develop a state-of-the-art golf range in Panchkula. The facility will be fully residential, for sports enthusiasts passionate about learning golf. AGS has announced that architect and avid golfer CP Kaushal has been entrusted with the design of this upcoming landmark project. Kaushal runs ‘The Creators’, a respected architecture firm of tricity.
C P Kaushal stated, “It is a matter of honour for me that AGS has entrusted me with designing and establishing the golf range. This golf range will represent a blend of innovation, sustainability, and world-class design. As a golfer myself, I am thrilled to contribute to a project that will shape the future of golf in the Chandigarh capital region.” It is worth noting that Kaushal’s expertise extends to designing golf courses, including a 9-hole course integrated into a plotted development colony in Ludhiana.
Kaushal further informed that the golf range will have advanced systems for resource conservation such as water and waste management. “The facility will include a 300-meter-long range with a double-deck practice area, allowing up to 40 players to practice long drives simultaneously. Additionally, an elaborate putting and chipping infrastructure, complete with greens and bunkers, will accommodate 50 players at a time. The facility will also provide ample parking for over 100 vehicles,” added Kaushal.
Advocate Suresh Gupta, Founder Trustee , Amateur Golfers Society said: “This state-of-the-art facility will not only elevate the standard of golf in the region but also position tricity as a premier destination for golf tourism. The idea is to nurture talented golfing enthusiasts and make the sport accessible to all.”
“I have already met with Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini to discuss the project, and a formal request for land allocation has been submitted,” he said.
Gupta further said that the land acquisition is to take place in 2025 and the range shall be completed by 2026. “The infrastructure will feature a fully residential training facility equipped with cutting-edge amenities,” informed Gupta.
Commenting on the appointment of C P Kaushal as the project’s architect, Gupta said that Kaushal is a Graduate of Chandigarh College of Architecture and brings over 42 years of architectural expertise to the project.
Notably Kaushal has been involved in designing iconic buildings, including the Administrative and Teaching Blocks of NIPER in Mohali and senior citizen housing in Panchkula’s Sector 2 for the Western Command Chandimandir.
Kaushal added that the range will be designed with sustainability at its core. The proposed golf range will have net zero efficiencies with environment-friendly construction leveraging efficient equipment and renewable energy sources.
Kaushal summing up said, “We plan to incorporate a thermal comfort feature that will ensure the maintenance of optimal indoor temperatures year-round. We are planning on setting up thoughtful lighting and design for an enhanced experience for the in house golf training of players.”
