SHIMLA: During his return Journey from Solan last evening Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu made an impromptu visit to Kandaghat to inspect the ongoing construction of a hospital building and playground.
Local residents informed the Chief Minister that the construction of the 50-bed Kandaghat hospital, initiated during the previous Congress government with an allocated budget of Rs. 14 crore, had been stalled during the tenure of the preceding BJP Government.
The Chief Minister assured the residents that the state government would restart the hospital's construction and allocate the necessary funds to complete the project. He directed the Health Department to promptly submit a proposal for resuming the construction work to the state government.
Following the hospital inspection, the Chief Minister also visited the Kandaghat playground, where local residents requested the expansion of the facility to provide more space for the youth to engage in sports activities.
The Chief Minister instructed the concerned department to submit a proposal for this expansion to the government, assuring the residents that their request would be considered sympathetically.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthi, MLA Vinod Sultanpuri and Hardeep Singh Bawa, District Congress President Shiv Kumar, Baghat Bank President Arun Sharma, State Congress Vice President Rahul Thakur, General Secretaries Surendra Sethi and Ramesh Thakur, APMC President Roshan Thakur, Nalagarh Block Congress Committee President Husan Chand, Solan Block Congress Committee President Sanjeev Thakur, Kasauli Block Congress Committee President Devendra Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma and Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh also accompanied the Chief Minister.
