No polling booth/tents by candidates in 200 Meter radius of polling stations: Kapurthala DC

Kapurthala : With an aim to ensure the peaceful election of Gram Panchayats 2024 in Kapurthala district, the Deputy commissioner cum district magistrate Amit Kumar Panchal has issued orders that no candidates / political party would be allowed to install polling booth / tents in the radius of 200 Meter of polling station in view of voting on October 15th.

Deputy commissioner said that the district administration has made adequate arrangements for smooth conduct of polls in the district and any anti social elements will be dealt strictly “.

He said that candidates or their supporters would not be able for campaigning in 200 meter radius of polling station .

Besides that no cell phone / wireless set /mobile will be allowed in the radius of 100 meter of polling station except the polling duty staff / security personnel/ observers or person allowed by the competent authorities.

Private vehicles will also not be allowed to enter in the 200 meter radius of polling station .Deputy commissioner also announced the “ Dry Day “ in villages where polling to be held on October 15th .

The Dry Day will be applicable from October 15 to October 16 till 10 AM . Under this the liquor shops/ ahatas in villages where voting will take place will remain closed besides restaurants/ hotels / clubs etc will not serve the liquor or store it .

Besides that Deputy commissioner also ordered the outsiders to leave the villages from October 13 , 4 PM onwards to October 15 till the voting process is completed.

Deputy commissioner also said that SSP Kapurthala and AETC Kapurthala will ensure the implementation of these orders in true spirit and manner for peaceful ele
