Chandigarh: Haryana Governor, Bandaru Dattatraya while addressing the first session of the State’s 15th Vidhan Sabha on Wednesday said that ensuring the upliftment of the poorest of the poor is the utmost priority of the present state government, the Governor said Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar believed that the progress of any society depends on the progress of deprived sections and the present state government is committed to the welfare and upliftment of all backward and deprived sections of society.
Millions of poor people have benefited by virtue of the saturation of various government schemes. This includes families from Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, and people from every society and every region, he said.
The Governor said that for the first time, the present state government has instilled in the poor the belief that the government is truly theirs and that they are an integral part of it.In the last 10 years, the empowerment of the poor has been the foundation of the achievements and development of the state.
The focus on last-mile delivery has changed the lives of these sections. This resolve to serve the deprived is true social justice, he said.
The Governor informed that to benefit the deprived, the government has implemented the classification of reservation of Scheduled Castes into two categories.Under the Happy Scheme, 84 lakh people in the state are provided free travel facilities up to 1000 kilometers annually, shared Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya.
Government will construct 1 lakh new houses to provide accommodations to workers near their workplace, Governor
The Governor said that the present state government is committed for the welfare of the Labour and while taking a step forward to ensure the same, plans have been formulated to construct 1 Lakh new houses to provide accommodations to workers near their workplace.
He said that India believes in the principle of ‘Shramev Jayate’. Indian culture has always valued and respected artisans and workers. The hard-working labourers have made a significant contribution in making Haryana one of the leading states in the country in terms of development.
The Governor said that financial assistance is provided for the marriage of the daughters of workers and Rs. 1.01 lakh is provided to them under the Kanyadan Yojana.
Now, a new initiative has been started to give an amount of Rs. 75,000, 3 days before the marriage of the daughter. The remaining amount of Rs. 26,000 is released after submitting the marriage certificate.
