Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar: In a bid to monitor the implementation of beneficial schemes under the National Food Security Act, Shri Vijay Dutt, Member of the Punjab State Food Commission, conducted a surprise inspection of government ration depots in various towns and villages of district Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar today.
The inspection covered government ration depots in multiple wards of Kurali town, village Kartarpur, and village Salampur. During the visit, Shri Dutt interacted with the beneficiaries receiving government ration and educated them about their rights under the schemes.

In addition, the introduction of biometric machines and electric weighing machines at all government ration depots in the district has significantly enhanced the transparency and fairness of the ration distribution process, offering relief to the public. Shri Dutt emphasized that surprise visits will continue, and any negligence towards the beneficial schemes will lead to strict action by the Commission.
To further facilitate beneficiaries, Shri Dutt directed that the Punjab State Food Commission's helpline number (9876764545) be displayed at all government ration depots.
