SDM Sonu Goyal emphasises digital literacy and civil services careers at NSS camp

Bangana: The fourth day of the seven-day special NSS camp at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government College, Bangana, began with a drill session led by NSS Program Officer Prof. Sikander Negi. Group leaders then presented their reports, and Lata Thakur shared reflections on the previous day’s activities along with the thought for the day.

 

The day’s four key sessions covered digital literacy and career opportunities in civil services. SDM Sonu Goyal, the chief guest and resource person for the first session, addressed the importance of digital literacy and opportunities in civil services, encouraging volunteers to pursue careers in administration.

 

In the second session, the Principal of Government Senior Secondary School, Bangana, spoke about the role of digital literacy in education and strategies for its implementation. He emphasized the need for students to adapt to the digital world.

 

The third session featured District Program Officer Narendra and Supervisor Sapna Sharma from the Women and Child Development Department, who discussed digital literacy’s role in women’s empowerment. They provided insights into government initiatives such as ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’, highlighting efforts to uplift women through technology.

 

The fourth session involved a group discussion on the challenges of digital literacy in developing nations, where volunteers shared their perspectives on global digital issues and potential solutions.

 

NSS Captain Tikshna and examination committee members were also present. The camp is proving to be a vital platform for volunteers’ physical, mental, and digital growth, not only enhancing their digital awareness but also fostering social consciousness. It is expected to play a significant role in shaping the youth’s holistic development.
