SAS Nagar: The 39th Annual Sports Meet of Shaheed Major Harminderpal Singh (Shaurya Chakra) Govt. College Mohali was successfully held on February 21, 2025, embodying the spirit of sportsmanship and healthy competition.
Under the able leadership of Principal Prof. Gurinderjeet Kaur, the event was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, MLA Kulwant Singh, who emphasized the importance of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance in his address. Principal Prof. Gurinderjeet Kaur, in her inaugural address, emphasized the importance of sports in shaping the character and personality of students, and praised the efforts of all the participants, volunteers, and faculty members in making the event a grand success.
The event featured a wide array of competitive track and field activities, including the 100-meter race, 200-meter race, 400-meter race, 800-meter race, 1500-meter race, 5000-meter race, long jump, shot put, discus throw, javelin throw, slow cycling, and the exciting three-legged race.
The athletes exhibited impressive talent, determination, and perseverance, captivating the audience with their performances. The winners of each event displayed remarkable skills and sportsmanship, bringing pride to both the college and the community.
In recognition of outstanding performance Vishal Kumar B.A Ist year and Babita BA3rd year were awarded the titles of Best Male Athlete and Best Female Athlete, respectively.
The event concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by the Vice-Principal Prof. Gunjeet Kaur. This year’s sports meet was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on all
attendees and further strengthening the bond between students, faculty, and the community.
