NCTE to start four new courses from the upcoming session: Chairperson NCTE

Kurukshetra, April 28. During a press conference held at Kurukshetra University, NCTE Chairperson Prof. Pankaj Arora said that National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)will soon start Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) of Yoga, Physical Training, Performing and Visual Arts and Sanskrit across the country.


Prof Pankaj Arora said that NCTE is making efforts to provide quality education across the country. Out of 779 teacher education institutions (B.Ed. and D.Ed.) in Haryana, notices have been issued to 155 educational institutions which have not submitted their progress report. Prof Arora underscored that the chief aim of NCTE is to prepare good teachers to ensure holistic growth of students.


For this, new teaching courses are being started across the country, in which especially four new courses will be started in which yoga teachers, physical training, performing arts training and visual arts and Sanskrit language teachers will be prepared. Such courses are being started to give strength to Indian languages. After four years of B.A.B.Ed, now one year B.Ed is also being started so that students who do four years of BA can do one year B.Ed.

 

One year M.Ed will also be started and there is a plan to start part time M.A for those who are teachers in CBSE, SCERT schools. Now dummy institutes will not be able to run in the whole country, for which NCTE is going to issue notice to 3 thousand institutes, out of which 155 are educational institutes of Haryana which have not submitted their progress report.

 

On this occasion, Vice Chancellor, Kurukshetra University, Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva said that representatives, directors and other officials related to higher and school education of 9 states are participating in the two-day national conference and brainstorming will be done for two days to realize the dream of developed India. The work of implementing the new education policy at the ground level and preparing better teachers is being done by NCTE. The aim of this programme is to develop such courses which produce teachers and students who become job givers instead of job seekers.


On this occasion, Vice Chancellor, Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Prof. Deepti Dharmani, Member Secretary, NCTE Abhilasha Jha Mishra, Director, Public Relations KUK Prof. Mahasingh Poonia and the coordinator of the programme D.K. Chaturvedi also graced the occasion.
