Ferozepur: In joint operation by Special Task Force -STF, Army, Border Security Force-BSF, one drone and 3.200 kg heroin was seized. The campaign launched by Bhagwant Mann, Chief Minister Punjab, against drugs received a major boost when Bhupinder Singh AIG, STF, Ferozepur Range received information that at India -Pakistan Hussainiwala border heroin consignment is to be dropped by drone.
A joint operation was conducted headed by Rajbir Singh, DSP STF along with Army and BSF teams. During the operation, a drone and an orange bag containing Heroin near Hussainiwala Border outer of village Hazara Singh Wala, Police Station Sadar Ferozepur Area, about 700/800 meters from the barbed wire were recovered from the Indian side.
The same were handed over to STF, Ferozepur range by the Army after its operation and 3.200 kg of heroin was recovered from the bag. While the drone was taken over by the Army, which is being sent to the lab by the Army itself for testing.
Meanwhile a case under NDPS Act has been registered and further investigations of the case is on with special focus on tob look for the culprits, who arranged this consignment of heroin from Pakistan.
