Punjab's AAP Government Stands With Farmers, But It Also Stands With Punjab's Industrialists and the Youth: Minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal

March 20, 2025 05:25 PM

Chandigarh: Punjab NRI Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal today issued a strong statement condemning Congress leaders for their alleged hypocrisy in supporting farmers. Dhaliwal criticized Congress MPs for staging protests in the Lok Sabha against the AAP government in Punjab while failing to stand up for farmers during their time in power.

Minister Dhaliwal expressed his disappointment after watching Congress leaders on television holding placards and claiming to support farmers. “It is heartbreaking to see Congress leaders now posing as supporters of farmers, despite being responsible for Punjab’s backwardness. Punjab’s economic struggles and unfair division are the result of Congress’s flawed policies,” Dhaliwal stated.

The Minister questioned Congress MPs’ track record, highlighting their inaction on critical issues. “These Congress MPs have never raised their voice in Parliament for Punjab’s farmers. They stayed silent when Punjab’s RDF were withheld, when the state’s development projects were stalled, and when its rightful dues were denied. Where were these leaders then?” Dhaliwal asked.

Drawing a contrast, Dhaliwal praised Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the AAP government for their consistent support for farmers. “Our Chief Minister is a farmer. Whether it’s during floods or other crises, he is always on the ground, leading from the front. Unlike Congress leaders who make empty promises, CM Mann has always prioritized the welfare of Punjab’s farmers, traders, and industries,” he said.

Dhaliwal further criticized the Congress for its failure to combat drugs during its tenure, stating, “The Congress government, led by Captain Amarinder Singh, did nothing to address the drug menace. They only made tall promises but delivered no results. The AAP government, on the other hand, has launched a relentless war against drugs and is committed to saving Punjab’s youth.”

The Minister also emphasized the AAP government’s commitment to Punjab’s economic recovery. “We are not just fighting for farmers but also for traders, industries, and the youth of Punjab. The AAP government stands like a rock for Punjab’s agriculture and economy. We will not let Punjab’s progress be derailed,” Dhaliwal asserted.
