BJP formed the government in alliance with the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP). However, the alliance broke earlier this year, following which BJP formed the government with other smaller parties.
BJP has been in power in Haryana for 10 years. Manohar Lal Khattar served as the Chief Minister of Haryana for nine and a half years. But, he tendered his resignation in June this year, handing over the reins to Nayab Singh Saini. Khattar contested the Lok Sabha elections and is serving as Union Minister of Urban and Housing Affairs.
