Ferozepur: The district-level Art Festival-2024-25 was kicked off with enthusiasm at Manohar Lal Senior Secondary School with inauguration by Ranbir Singh Bhullar, MLA Ferozepur (Urban).
The event, organized under the guidance of the Director General School Education-cum-State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan Authority, was held with the support of District Education Officer (Sec.) Mrs. Munila Arora and Deputy District Education Officer Dr. Satinder Singh, along with Vocational Coordinator Lakhwinder Singh.
Ferozepur City MLA, Ranbir Singh Bhullar, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his address, he highlighted the Punjab government's commitment, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, to improving the overall development and educational standards of students across the state. He encouraged students to actively participate in sports and other co-curricular activities alongside academics for holistic development.
DEO(S) Mrs. Munila Arora shared that students from grades 9 to 12, selected at the school level, participated in this district-level event. Competitions included Vocal Music - Traditional Folk, Solo Instrumental Music, Folk Dance, and Visual Arts (2D).
Dy, DEO Dr. Satinder Singh said that these competitions are scheduled to take place on September 23 and 24 at Manohar Lal Senior Secondary School, Ferozepur Cantonment. He added that these events aim to foster the multifaceted personality of students.
Around 200 participating students were awarded certificates of appreciation. The guide teachers of the winning students were also honoured with certificates. Ravi Inder Singh, from Sodhi Nagar, effectively managed the role of master-of-ceremony during the event.
The panel of judges included Mrs. Rajni Jagga from Punjabi Lokcharaan S.S.S.S. School Bareke, Mrs. Ravinder Kaur, Mrs. Paramjit Kaur, Mrs. Kulvinder Kaur, Mrs. Kulwant Kaur, Mrs. Sarbjit Kaur from S.S.S. Mahima, Gurcharan Singh from S.S.S. Sur Singh Wala, Mrs. Shivani Sethi from S.S.S. Kariyan Pahlwan, and Chaturpal Singh. Special support was provided by District Guidance Counselor Sandeep Komboj, Assistant Nodal Officer Ashwinder Singh from Government Senior Secondary School Bareke, Varinder Singh from S.S.S. Mamdot, Inderdeep Singh from S.S.S. Arif Ke, Mrs. Shalu from S.S.S. Bukkan Khan Wala, and Sumitpal Singh Sodhi from S.S.S. Bareke.
