SAS Nagar: Reviewing the arrangements for the ensuing Kharif Marketing Season, the Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain said that all the arrangements for procurement of paddy in the district SAS Nagar Mandis have been completed.
Chairing a meeting of Commission Agents, Rice Millers and Procurement Agencies today at the District Administrative Complex, SAS Nagar, Mohali, DC Jain assured the Commission Agents and Rice Millers of full cooperation from the District Administration for smooth sailing of the procurement season.
She said that a total of 15 purchase centres have been notified in the district where in an arrival of 215220 MT has been expected during the season.
The Deputy Commissioner while listening to the problems raised by the Commission agents and rice millers, directed the procurement agencies and mandi board officials to resolve the issues before the onset of the procurement i.e. October 1.
She assured them of the lifting of the crop within the stipulated time limit along with direct payment to the farmers. She said the tender procedure for labour, transport and cartage has already been completed and sufficient bales of bags for filling the paddy are available with the agencies.
She stressed better coordination between the Commission Agents, Rice Millers and Procurement Agencies for the smooth conduct of the procurement season in the district.
TThe meeting was attended by the ADC (G) Viraj S Tidke, SDM Mohali Deepankar Garg, DFSC Vijay Singla, DM PUNSUP Parvinder Boparai, DM FCI Amit Panth, DM Markfed Poonam Singla, DM Punjab State Warehousing Corporation Raghbir Singh and representatives of Commission Agents, Rice Millers and Mandi Board.
