MP Malvinder Kang instructs teachers to eat mid-a-meal with students daily

RUPNAGAR: Member of Parliamentary constituency Sri Anadpur Sahib, Malvinder Singh Kang on Monday issued instructions to teachers to eat mid-a-meal with the students daily under the guidelines of Education Department.

 

While presiding over the meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee at Administrative Complex Rupnagar, he took stock of the progress of development and public welfare schemes sponsored by the Central and State Governments, with the officials of various departments.

 

MP Malvinder Singh Kang said that Punjab Government has been paying special attention in the sector of education under which the infrastructure of government schools is being strengthened and libraries are being constructed on a large scale.

 

Expressing concern over the rapid groundwater depletion, the Member of Parliament said that if we want to save this precious water source for future, it is mandatory to use the pond water for irrigation. With an aim to protect ground water, Punjab Government has worked on war footing under which pond water would purify in 43 villages according to the Thapar model. While it has already started in many villages. He instructed the water supply and sanitation department to start work soon in the rest of 508 villages, which are approved for the Thapar model pond.

 


Sharing information about the solution to the problem of plastic waste, he said that work is in progress to establish plastic waste management units in village Sarthali, Block Nurpur Bedi and Agampur Block, Sri Anandpur Sahib. Apart from this, the work in other blocks should be started soon so that the pollution spread by plastic will be disposed off in a scientific manner.


He urged the health department to submit a report of vacant posts, basic requirements and machinery etc. so that more health facilities can be provided to the residents of the district in all the government hospitals. Along with this, medicines are being provided completely free of cost to the needy patients in government hospitals.

 

Mr. Malvinder Singh Kang further said that more awareness should be provided to the poor and needy people to ensure financial assistance under various welfare schemes.

MP also reviewed the ongoing development works in the district under MGNREGA, Deen Dayal Antodaya Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission Rural , Jal Jeevan Mission, PMKSY, Mid Day Meal Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana, Samgra Shiksha Abhiyan, MP Land Scheme etc.


On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Himanshu Jain, District Planning Committee Chairman Harminder Singh Dhahe, Additional Deputy Commissioner (RD) Sanjeev Kumar, SP Navneet Singh Mahal, SDM Rupnagar Gurwinder Singh Johal, SDM Chamkaur Sahib Amrik. Singh, SDM Morinda Sukhpal Singh, SDM Nangal Anamjot Kaur, SDM Shri Anandpur Sahib Sukhpal Singh Sekhon, District Revenue Officer Badaldin, Bhag Singh Maidan from Aam Aadmi Party, Chairman Improvement trust Nangal, Ram Kumar Mukari, Economic and Statistical Advisor Hermes Kumar , Civil Surgeon Dr. Tarsem Singh, including senior officers were present.
