PHDCCI Chandigarh Chapter Congratulates Renaming of Advisor Position to Chief Secretary in Chandigarh UT

Chandigarh: The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), Chandigarh Chapter, extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Chandigarh Administration on the renaming of the position of Advisor to Chief Secretary in Chandigarh Union Territory.


In his congratulatory remarks, Mr.Madhu Sudan Vij, Chair of the PHDCCI Chandigarh Chapter, expressed, “We are pleased to extend our heartfelt congratulations on renaming the position of Advisor to Chief Secretary in Chandigarh. This change reflects the administration’s dedication to improving transparency, streamlining decision-making processes, and enhancing public service delivery. The title of Chief Secretary is widely recognized across Indian states and Union Territories and underscores the senior-most administrative officer’s pivotal role in governance.”


Mr.Suvrat Khanna, Co-Chair of the Chandigarh Chapter, commended the move, stating, “This renaming is not just a change in nomenclature but a step towards aligning Chandigarh's administrative framework with best practices across the country. It will elevate the Union Territory’s governance standards and reinforce the public’s trust in the administration. We appreciate the Chandigarh Administration for taking this proactive measure, which will have long-term benefits for the residents of Chandigarh.”


Notably, Dr. Ashok Khanna, Former President of PHDCCI, lauded this progressive step, highlighting its alignment with the Chandigarh Administration’s commitment to fostering excellence in governance. Also being a former President PHDCCI & Member of Board of Trade, Government of India, at many different platforms, he suggested and mentioned that Renaming of Advisor Position to Chief Secretary in Chandigarh UT is very important for level playing field. He kept on suggesting the same on many Government platforms so that this initiative can be implemented.
