Kurukshetra:  Dharohar Haryana Museum, situated on the campus of Kurukshetra University, marked its 19th foundation day on Sunday. Inaugurated on April 28, 2006, the museum has grown into a significant cultural landmark, drawing over 3.3 million visitors to date, including foreign guests from 170 countries.

On the occasion, Kurukshetra University Vice Chancellor Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva extended his congratulations, highlighting the museum’s contribution in promoting Haryanvi culture on a global platform.

More than 150 delegates from nine northern Indian states — Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand — visited the museum as a part of the National Conference 2025. The visit offered participants an immersive experience of Haryanvi folk traditions through over 50 curated galleries.

Prof MahaSingh Poonia,  Director, Public Relations, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in strengthening cultural ties. Meanwhile, museum curator Dr. Kuldeep Arya noted that Dharohar is the only museum of its kind in Haryana, having carved a distinct identity both nationally and internationally.

Currently undergoing departmental enhancements under the dynamic leadership of Prof. Sachdeva, the museum aims to further connect the younger generation with the rich heritage of Haryana. Last year alone, the museum welcomed 180,000 visitors.

Officials extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the people of Haryana on the milestone anniversary, celebrating the museum's continuous journey of cultural preservation and growth.
