Bihar Foundation's Punjab and Chandigarh Chapter holds meeting with Haryana Governor

Chandigarh: In a significant development, Dr. Rupesh Kumar Singh, President of the Punjab and Chandigarh Chapter of the Bihar Foundation, along with other office bearers including Sh Niraj Kumar Singh, Sh Binay Shankar Jha, and Sh Pallav Kumar, recently had a productive meeting with the Honourable Governor of Haryana, Sh Bandaru Dattatraya Ji.

The meeting highlighted key global and local initiatives of the Foundation, aimed at strengthening the connection between Bihar's diaspora and its development agenda.

Bihar Foundation, established by the Government of Bihar in 2006, is a prominent organization dedicated to strengthening the bond between the state and its vast diaspora across India and worldwide.

With 13 chapters in India and 15 international chapters in countries such as the USA, UK, Japan, UAE, Australia, and Singapore, the Foundation’s primary objective is to engage Non-Resident Biharis and Persons of Bihari Origin (PBOs) in contributing to the state’s progress.

The Bihar Foundation plays an instrumental role in the state’s socio-economic development by promoting bonding, branding, and business collaboration among the Bihari diaspora.

Through these initiatives, the Foundation aims to leverage the resources, expertise, and knowledge of the global Bihari community to actively contribute to Bihar’s growth in key sectors like infrastructure, education, healthcare, and more.

The meeting with the Honourable Governor of Haryana was an important step in extending the Foundation’s outreach.

The office bearers briefed His Excellency about the Foundation's ongoing work, including the celebration of Bihar’s rich cultural heritage, promoting tourism, and attracting investment to enhance the state's global image.

The Governor expressed his support for the Foundation’s mission and its efforts in facilitating partnerships between the Bihar Government and the Bihari diaspora.

One of the highlights of the Foundation’s activities includes organizing the Bihar Pravasi Divas, an event that serves as a platform for Biharis living outside the state to interact with government officials, explore investment opportunities, and contribute to Bihar’s development.

In addition to promoting cultural exchange, the Foundation actively encourages investment in sectors that are vital for Bihar's growth, such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and more.

The Bihar Foundation is also committed to providing support to the Bihari diaspora, addressing welfare concerns, and facilitating meaningful interactions with state authorities. The organization also works closely with educational institutions to improve skill development, education, and employment opportunities for the people of Bihar, leveraging the expertise of the global Bihari community.

In addition to its focus on development, the Bihar Foundation provides valuable input to the Government of Bihar regarding policies and schemes that enhance the socio-economic landscape of the state.
