Shimla: The high-altitude regions of Himachal Pradesh, including Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur, witnessed light snowfall and rainfall, while the rest of the state remained mostly dry.

The fresh round of snowfall in some parts has led to slippery road conditions, prompting the local administration to issue advisories for residents and tourists.

According to the district administration of Lahaul-Spiti, certain roads in the region are currently unsafe for vehicular movement due to snowfall accumulation.

The authorities have warned travellers about the potential dangers of driving on these roads and have urged people to avoid unnecessary travel.

Kalpa in Kinnaur recorded 4 mm of rain and 0.2 cm of snowfall, while Kangra and Dharamshala received 2 mm of rainfall. Trace amounts of rain were also reported in Shimla, Bhuntar, and Sundernagar.

Despite these sporadic showers, most other areas in the state experienced dry weather conditions. The Lahaul-Spiti administration has issued a public advisory highlighting the risks posed by heavy snowfall in the region. Tourists and residents have been advised to refrain from travelling on slippery roads unless absolutely necessary. Police have urged people to take extra precautions.

Despite the precipitation, temperatures in the state have remained a couple of degrees above normal. The minimum and maximum temperatures have not seen a sharp drop, providing some relief from extreme cold.

Minimum temperature of Shimla was 7.5 degrees, Kalpa 2.4 degrees, Dharamshala five degrees, Una 3 degrees, Nahan 8 degrees, Keylong 0.3 degrees, Solan and Manali 4 degrees each, Kangra 7.8 degrees, Mandi 6 degrees, Bilaspur 4.7 degrees, Chamba 5.5, Dalhousie 3.9 and Jubberhatti 7.6 degrees.
