Amity University-Mohali students form Rotaract Club, pledge community service

Mohali: Amity University, Mohali, organised the Charter Presentation and Installation Ceremony of the Amity Punjab Rotaract Club.

This landmark event brought together a distinguished gathering, including Rotarian Vijay Kumar Dhall (Parent Club President), Rotaractor Shashank Kaushik (District Rotaract Representative), Rotarian Mohit Singla (District Chair for Rotaract), Dr Shivali Dhingra (Dean of Management), and Dr Dalip Kumar (Registrar, Amity University, Mohali) , Dr Manish Mahajan and Ms Harsimran Kaur – Faculty coordinators of Amity Rotaract Club and other distinguished Rotaract Club members. The audience comprised students from diverse academic domains of the university, demonstrating the inclusiveness and collaborative spirit of the university.

The ceremony commenced with the collaring of Rotarian Vijay Kumar Dhall, the Parent Club President, and Rotaractor Shashank Kaushik, the District Rotaract Representative (DRR), symbolizing their esteemed roles in guiding and mentoring the newly established club. The event continued with the recitation of the National Anthem, followed by Rotary’s Four-Way Test, which emphasized ethical integrity. The lighting of the ceremonial lamp by esteemed dignitaries symbolized enlightenment and new beginnings, setting the tone for the day’s proceedings.

Rotarian Vijay Kumar Dhall, the Parent Club President, officially presented the Rotaract Club charter to the University representatives on the stage, Dr Shivali Dhingra (Dean of Management), and Dr Dalip Kumar (Registrar, Amity University, Mohali), solidifying the formal establishment of the club. This Rotaract Club, sponsored by Rotary Club Chandigarh Uptown and established under Rotaract District 3080, marked a significant milestone in the university's commitment to community engagement and leadership development. The leadership team, led by President Rotaractor Raminder Singh, student of BSc Clinical Psychology, 2nd year was inducted with a collaring ceremony, marking the transition of responsibilities and leadership.

The event concluded with vibrant cultural performances by the students, including soulful poetry recitation, melodious songs, and graceful dance performances, which added a celebratory touch and reflected the creative spirit of the university.
